Dumb move...on my part

So with the cold weather i've been wearing gloves and the other day I was in the garage pulling the battery out of my bike so it didn't freeze. My garage only opens with a key, which is on the ring with my bike key. I didn't put that ring back in my pants pocket and instead put it in my coat pocket...

Long story short I pulled my gloves out of my coat pockets at some point in time and lost my bike key. I've been everywhere I was that day three times and asked around and no one has found them...including me.

Does anyone know if a locksmith can make me a new key using the lock off my tank or something like that...or do they just unlock cars?

According to my locksmith buddy, as long as it uses a key, a lock is a lock is a lock, as far as vehicles are concerned. He says a locksmith should be perfectly able to make a key from the cylinder.

Sometimes there is a number on the cylinder that you can take to a dealer and they can make you a key. Also do a web search and you can send them the number and they will send you the key. It cost me 30 for two keys last time. Good luck.
