Hi all
This is my 1st post,so here it goes. I am a 45 yr old man and I haven't ridden a bike in 25 yrs. I am currently looking at the Honda 750 A.C.E. bikes and I am just curious what you think about this bike. Just so you know I am 5'10" and weigh 200 lbs. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Have you riden it? If you don't mind the weight it should be pretty good.

I started on an ACE and although there is alittle more learning curve because of the weight it is a great first bike. I rode it for 2 years before I felt the need to move up. Outstanding bike!
Do you plan on taking the MSF class? It would be a great refresher for you.

Nice looking bike.
I was thinking about a shadow -- heard from a lot of people that it was lacking too much in the power department for them. However, I cannot comment conclusively -- I never rode one.

I just rode one yesterday. It's not a bad little bike. Of course, coming from a 1600cc Mean Streak it felt small and underpowered, but it seemed to be a great commuter, if you don't mind the engine screamin' at you at freeway speeds. The best part about it is, nobody can tell it's only 750cc's. It's a very sharp looking bike and I would be proud to own one after a 25-year hiatus.

I just bought a 2002 Shadow Spirit 750 which is very much like the ace. i am a big guy and it has plenty of power for me. Mine has some extenders on the pegs to give me more leg room, but you will probably fit the stardard location just fine. I am 6' 3. I ride it to work at 70 to 75 on the interstate with no problem.

I rode my ACE on many long trips (21,500 miles in less than 2 years) and never had a problem with the engine screaming at highway speeds. It has lot's of power (no....not as much as a 1800, but plenty IMO) The bike was awesome.

Thanks for all the advice.I just sat on my cousins yamaha v-star 650 yesterday and it seemed very comfortable and not to heavy. I think this is another bike that I would consider,if anyone has a 650 v-star what do you think of it?
Thanks

I have a 650 V Star Custom. Like you, hadnt had a bike in a long time before this one. Bought mine new in November---so far I have nothing but good things to say about it. It rides and handles perfectly.

A.C.E or V-star, you wouldn't go wrong with either bike. I own V-Star 650cc and this is a wonderful bike for both beginner and not so. Don't look down on 650cc engine, this thing can ride a long with other bigger bike with no problem whatsoever. I've rode with some HD 1200cc, Roadstar, Volusia and the V-star can keep up with other bikes up to 90mph (who wanna ride faster than 90mph anyway). You will hear some screaming from engine on HWY speed, don't so worry this baby like it rough LOL.
