Hi, I know this is a basic question to those who have been riding for some time

but I wish to buy a cover for my bike, a Yamaha XVS Dragstar, it's 7 foot long, I don't want to pay for 'a name' but want a decent protective cover, what are the things to look for in a motorbike cover? How much should I expect to pay?
ANy advise?
Thanks.
David

David,
We need more information. I know myself I use a double bed sheet and wash it once in a while.... But then I have my motorcycle in a nice big garage, when not riding.
Are you in a similar situation or do you need something for parking it on the street?

Hi, thanks for quick reply.
Although I have a garage I can't house it in there as it's not big enough for my car as well, I house it in a fenced off area so it is out in the open, chained to the metal fence behind locked gates, so it is out in the weather.
Thanks

I don’t know if that length is a problem but I simply did a google search for a cover for my specific make and model. Lots of options came up and I got a nice one for about $50. It fit perfectly even over my windshield. My wife’s bike sits in the snow in the back yard and this does the trick nicely.

Only enough room in the garage for one. Mine cost more.

It's name brand but I haven't gotten half the mileage or protection from cheap covers compared to a dowco weather all plus
