I really did it, yes I did, I pissed them all off!
I belong to a HOG Chapter in and I feel some of them are being Bike Bigots, yup I said it, harsh I may be but I got pissed to.
We have members that have associate members tagged to them, for those of you who don't know associates can join the chapter but are not full members because they do not own a HD, they are unpriveledged members in other words they can go on some of the ride but cannot participate in HOG Rallies and anything HOG related like the mileage program etc.
So here is what I did, I really wanted to get participation up and to stop loosing members so I started a TAG on the HD forum and I posted a TAG with my Honda on it, I stated I really want everyone in the Chapter to be able to participate in something and since this is just a game for everyone lets let the associate members be able to participate, well all HELL broke loose and the ONLY HD BRAND folks raised cane, I tried to explain look we have associate members here for what ever reason do not currently have an HD whether there bike is there first bike and wanted something they can learn on or just cant afford and HD right now, we need to let them participate in something, people its about the riding and having fun, riding safe, etc. Well now I am the object/subject of an uprise at this moment, am I so wrong to want to be able to let all members participate in one game, they are already shunned from everything else, and what else bothers me is people have discussed this before . Well I vented.

F-em. It's about the ride not the bike. We buy the bike we fall in love with. They buy for the name. I can't stand the die-hard HD only guys.

On the other side I can't stand the people who choose to ride non-MoCo bikes because they don't want to ride a Harley Davidson.

haha...i understand your frustration. Most the people I've had contact with while out on the bike(s) have shown good interest in the V-Rod. A few BBBs have shown real "displeasure" in the fact that there exists a water cooled HD.

Most those people ride weekends between May and September and log a whole 500 miles a season on their trophies. They also have trouble doing U-turns so I don't pay much attention when they express their distaste with my bike.

You all know the old joke, what is the difference between a HD and a Hoover vacuum cleaner? Hoovers have their dirt bags hidden inside, HD's, the dirt bag is plainly visible.....

Never been much of a HD fan or any cruiser for that matter, but HD does seem to attract more then their fair share of posers and wannabe's.

Y'know, I used to think that too, but now I gotta disagree. There's a big HOG chapter down in Burlington, about 10 miles from here. HD's are by far and away the most numerous bikes on the road. Say 5% of any given group of anybody are jerks. The bigger the group, the more jerks you're going to have, but it's still only 5%.

I've met a lot of HD riders around here, most of them are stand up guys (and gals). I've had them pull up alongside my Bonneville at red lights and openly admire it, ask questions, etc. Most of them aren't running obnoxious exhaust systems, etc.

The worst cases of HD brand bigotry I run into don't even ride.... it's the people with the HD bumper stickers and decals on their cage that have never been on a bike!

Yeah if you hang out with a bunch of citizens. I have only ever seen one biker actually ride one of these. (If you want a bike that looks like a Yamaha GET a Yamaha, its a better bike) Most clubs allow the V-rod and some will even allow Sportsters, Gilroys and Victorys, almost none will allow any other bikes.

SAY WHAT!!! I know of no clubs where you can ride less than 500 miles a week let lone a year. (unless you consider "HOG" posers a club) A "Nomad" with any major club will put on a minimum of 20K a year.
