Yet again, we get the sheet end of the motorcycle lineup stick.
Looks really cool though.

i just can't dig on most of the dual purpose/adventure bikes. i don't know what it is, but none of them really do it for me.

Adventure tourers generally are not so good as off road bikes (too heavy). But the secret is - they are extremely capable, very comfortable street touring bikes.

Consider the V-strom: standard riding position for comfort, 1/2 fairing for weather protection, 1000cc 98hp twin means it isn't a slowpoke, extra suspension travel makes it great for rough city streets or potholed roads. It's an all around large bike which makes it good for a big guy like me, or for two-up, or for carrying lots of luggage. And for all this, it only weighs about 460 lbs dry.

Awesome bike, but US$18k and 575 lbs seem kinda ridiculous.

I'll take the V-Strom any day.

Yeah very true. I always wanted a BMW R-GS. One day, when I replace my R1150R, I think I will go with the R1200GS.

weird thing is once you get used to riding them (I have a 1200 gs) you do not get the same satisfaction froma full on sport bike, and you do tend to explore more and further.
