my bike has been making a high pitched noise occasionally when im coming to a stop. I just had the pads replaced on both the front and back. also another weird thing going on here is that when braking with front. the lever seams to be jerky. as in im braking steadly and then it compresses itself almost. basically the reaction in brake performance is jerky instead of smooth. I also had the fluid changed recently by a mechanic on both the front and back.

The squeak could be due to pad material, or possibly the new pads glazed over because they were not clean or used to hard too soon after installing. Minor issue compared to the lever problem.

Does the lever feel like it is pulsating when using the brakes? Could be a warped rotor or high spots on the rotor from overheating localized spots on it. Or does it seem to lose pressure suddenly? That would be air in the lines or internal leakage in the master cylinder. Did he clean/grease the mounting or slider pins on the calipers?

I would take it back to the guy who did the work and get his opinion on it. You paid him to fix the brakes, he should finish the job. And have made sure they work properly.
