Hello,
I am a new rider (49yrs old having wanted a bike all my life) and I just recently picked up my first bike. A 1983 Suzuki GS750T and I was wondering how best to give it some TLC with a minor makeover.
I have seen the photos of one of the forum members (http://www.bikepics.com/members/borchnicerice/) and really like the look. can anyone tell me if this bike can be easily lowered? can I put a wider rear tire on it (would this negatively effect control)? what type of cleaning products can I use to bring out the shine on the metal parts (chrome, aluminium).
Any advice on how I can make somethin outta this old girl would be great. I will take some pics of her current condition and post these soon.
thxz in advance for any advice you all might have.

Pete

Like he said when on his click here. A bike like that will make a big difference if took the tank side panels and both fenders to have painted. This would also be the time to trim the rear fender if you did not want so much of it. But if so do this before removing it from the bike so you see how it looks. Like he said put the shocks on the lowest adjustment and see if it is lowered enough for you (with someone setting on it). The little bit of wider tire you can fit will not affect handling but will make the clearances back there tighter so would have to make more sure of watching when you adjust things.
