I wear jeans , just regular jeans. But im looking for some other alternatives that are cool in summer AND wont make me look like a turbo dork if i walk into work or the mall wearing them.

Or, does anyone make some type of armor or knee pads that fit under your jeans and arent too awkward to wear not on the bike?

I'm just wondering because i ride with the mindset that i AM going to go down at some point, and I dont really think cheap old navy jeans alone are going to help me much. I just want something that is no warmer then jeans, and dont make me look like a Power Ranger.

i just wear all my hockey equipment including my friend's goalie mask. i get some weird looks from people. its kinda tough to master the art of clutch,shift,swing hockey stick to side but im getting the hang of it.

I have one pair of Joe Rocket jeans, otherwise it's Wranglers or Royal Robbins.

Next to leather genuine Levis are the best thing imnsho.......and they are always fashionably correct........

those joe rocket jeans look nice. a little pricey though. i wonder what the low profile knee pads are like. they're about the same price i figure with the knee pads i could wear them with anything, so i'd have more choices as to what to wear.

A pair of genuine Levi's not purchased from wally mart. I heard on NPR that Levi's makes special jeans for the wally mart that are of a lesser quality than what they usually make so the can meet wally's demand of buying and selling at a low price.

I have purchased all my jeans from Wal-Mart (Wranglers) save for one...a pair of Levis I bought at the mall. They (the Levis) ended up having a missing belt loop in the back and I couldn't stand to wear them. The Wranglers are every bit as good looking, and fit me to a tee. And they only cost $16.00 a pair, not $30-$40 like Levis.

I'm not knockin' Levis, I'm sure I just bought a fluke pair. But don't knock Wally World, either. Try on a pair of Wrangler Relaxed Fit next time you're in there. You might be surprised.

I'll confess that I've always ridden in jeans -- though they will disintegrate if I slip and slide; and those metal rivets won't do me any good -- nowhere near the ideal protection; but comfy.

I have a pair of Draggin' Jeans. I also have the knee protection but don't always wear them. They are comfortable to ride in, luckily I can't say how well they will do in a crash yet.
