That would be best.

best way to keep the rates down is to get a cruiser or standard and not a sport bike. Maybe keep it under 1,000 cc.

yeah it will be alot less for the night hawk. and are they paid for?

just dont cover the bike(s) and it will be cheap. just be willing to accept the lose of the bike(s) if your at fault in an accident. the cost of covering a bike over a few years is usually the cost of buying a new bike so its not worth it to me.

Sorry, but that's a contradiction of terms.

What province are you in - it makes a big difference in rates.

Insurance is a provincial deal in Canada, so it differs heavily by province. I noticed you mentioned in a previous post that you're in Ontario (or at least you know the price of smokes there ) -- if you're in the GTA, or don't mind getting insured by an out-of-town broker, there's a list of GTA motorcycle insurance companies over on the GTAMotorcycle forums that might be of some use.

I got some OK quotes from a few of them, but ended up going with a local broker that came well-recommended.

You're in BC aren't you Canuckerjay? Most of us here use Megson Fitzpatrick Inc. they are on Vancouver Island. They have a good reputation and have great prices. You can contact them at 1-250-727-7965, or online http://www.megsonfitzpatrick.com/motorcycle.htm

Most of the Harley riders use them as they also have have a good theft policy. Their insurance runs for the year, but when you aren't riding it converts to a garage policy. I believe you can get the forms online and get a quote quite quickly.

My husband and I saved hundreds by using ICBC for the basics, and the rest with Megson. Also if your bike is new, they will pay out the total value of the bike for the first 3 years, and if you include the cost of all your gear in the value you give them, will pay out for gear as well but there is a decline in value for these items.

I'm in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario.
