My little beemer tops out at 100mph with a tail wind. I think I have more fun on it than those liter sportbike guys, b/c they never get to see the top end of their bikes abilities.PeterTrocewicz wrote:I get ridiculed for it, but I've always believed the saying that "its more fun to ride a slow bike fast than it is to ride a fast bike slow".
Besides, a sportbike would just be an expensive way for me to commit suicide. I was reminded today that I'm in that critical time span of new riders, year's 2-3, where you get cocky. My bikes abilities did more to prevent an inconvenient and painful spill than my abilities. I just let Mith handle it.

They put in a round-about in on my road, about 70 feet after a really hard, blind curve. I know it's there, I know this road so well I can ride it backwards in my sleep. But I ignored the signs about the new thingy, went thru the curve at a fun, but safe speed. Didn't slow down enough, and was in the round-about realizing I was going faster than I knew how to ride. I gritted my teeth and asked Mith to handle it. He did. I doubt I would have killed myself, but it would have been painful, and possibly stitches or broken bones depending on how I landed.
So maybe I'll be safe, with that reminder, for another few months.
