I ride a honda rebel 1985, and i was wondering what kind of tools should I carry with me on long rides??

and what kind of battery charger should I get considering the bike is quite old

If your bike didn't come with a toolkit you'll need a 4, 5, or 6 way screwdriver. You know, the one with two blades one large and one small or one flat and one phillips. These also may have two nutdrivers, but I don't know if you can get them in metric. A pair of pliers, an 8, 10 ,14, and 17 wrench. Two allen wrenchs, one is a 6mm and a 4mm I think. also a spark plug socket. Check local swap meets or craigslist for kits for your bike.

Get a battery tender instead of a charger, they take longer but are better for your battery.

I am sorry to say that my bike did not come with a kit. I will of course look for the items you have mentioned and I thank you for the info. Also what is a battery tender?

Battery Tender is a brand you can find with a google. The low amperage charger has programming to maintain a float charge on your battery. I use a couple of them on the bikes all winter.
