I recently came across an 89 Fzr 400 and would like to ask a few questions.

First could it be used as a commuter bike and or would it be wise to use it as a commuter?
Second, It already has 26000 miles on it, would it be wise to pass this up and go for something with a bit less, or will I be able to enjoy this bike for a while?
Third would this bike be suitable for a beginner, with MSf experience and some saddle time?

Anything else you could tell me about this Bike would be welcomed.

Thanks.

As long as it fits you okay it'd make a fine commuter.

I'd actually be more concerned if it had very few miles on it. Bikes last longer when they're ridden regularly and are maintained. If left to sit, engine and transmission seals dry, shrink, and crack.

It's only a 400, and it probably has some decent weight to it considering the era it's from, so I'd say sure.

My only question is...how much are they asking for it?

He is asking 1600 for it. Not to sure if thats what they normally go for or not.
But the bike looks to be really good shape.
