well I recently finished what I'm calling the first phase of my bike project, I bought this bike a few months ago and decided to start tearing into it, I wanted to get it up and running so that I could be riding this summer (now) so I did some minor modification/restoration...

...so far the list includes: rebuilt/refinished carbs, new chain, coils, condensor, points, plugs, chopped frame, clubman bars, refinished tank, carbonfiber seatpan, "new" tail light + plate mount, stripped and painted pipes, new mirror.

things to come include wrapping the pipes, rebuilding the harness, redoing the controls, new minuiture gauges, new tires, total refinish, leather wrap for the foam padded seat, rear signals, shortening the cables, and something has to be done about that mirror. a lot of this will happen next winter.

feel free to let me know what you think.

Looks cool, have you had it out yet?
How do the new bars affect handling? And I was wondering about what you used to paint the pipes. They look really good in the matt black.

YOU ROCK! That looks awesome with the clubman bars! I can see where you're going with this, and I like it.

Me likey. Put a scrambler-style seat and rear fender on it and you hit a home run.

Striped the mufflers.... cool, I like the straight pipe look. And it probably sounds great.

Looks great, I'm doing similar things to Cb400.

How do the pipes sound? I put a 2 into 1 on my twin and it sounded like garbage with the tiny baffle. I can't imagine straight pipes sounding good. I had to stuff fibreglass in my mufller to get rid of the rasp.

Wow!

You're making me want to go find an older bike to customize, as if I don't already have enough to do with three kids!

Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through you.
