92 Honda Shadow

#1 Unread post by SteveB334 »

I have the opportunity to get a 1992 Honda Shadow in almost perfect condition for $1900 with 6K miles through one of my best friends neighbor.
I am assuming that this is a very good price.
This will be my first bike.
Do you think I should go for it and if so what should I look out for?

thanks

What size engine does the bike have?

Great choice for a beginner. You can use NADA (www.nada.com) or the Kelley blue book (www.kbb.com) to check average prices, but they usually vary and are pretty arbitrary. If you think the bike is worth it, it's a great starter and highly recommended.

My 93 had 17k miles; I paid $2400 and I considered it a steal.

But get a bike mechanic to check it out, because you never know when something broken is hidden behind all that pretty chrome.
