Would a Ducati Monster 620 i.e. be a good first bike? Im leaning towards ether the Ducati or a ninja 500 or a GS500F what do you guys think.
Thanks Babydrop

Monster 620 is generally considered a "gray zone" bike for noobs. I.e. do-able, but there are safer choices. Handling is OK for noobs, power is borderline OK. 620's had a 6000 mile valve adjustment interval IIRC, so there are probably less expensive bikes out there to maintain. Still, if a 620 Monster is what floats your boat..........

The only problem is dropping a Ducati... it's one of those bikes you don't wanna drop or it'll be quite costly. Insurance wise it would also be a bit much compared to the smaller, cheaper japanese bikes.
Is it really a gray zone in terms of noob friendly power and handling? The Suzuki GSX 650F or Gladius is considered a good n00b bike and the SV650 is doable, especially in Europe. Still a Ninja 500 is cheaper to buy, insure and maintain and so many low priced parts are floating around on the web.

I have a ducati and I'll tell you to go with the other bikes. They are very expensive to fix esp if it's an older model.
