Saturday I did 150 miles of good hard riding. The kind that you feel tired and sore the next day after throwing the bike around. Can't complain it's a great feeling.

One thing I noticed for the first time is that I feel more "comfortable" leaning the bike hard to the left than the right.

Cornering right makes me think more and I also have to be more aware of proper technique than with the left which just feels more natural.

Anyone else have a motorcycle cornering good side?

I feel the same way about the left side than right. Probably has something to do with the right hand controlling the throttle while the left only has to deal with the clutch, that's probably just me though.

The knobs on the left peg on my bikes have worn out before the right one. Time for some magnesium peg feelers

I like cornering to the right side. I guess this is because i'm used to the jughandles and highway ramps going almost always to the right in NJ

I'm with you bandit, left is my "natural" feeling side.

Good question something I never really thought of. I didn't think I had a preference but now that I thought about it a few minutes I think right side usually I can take right turns a little faster because I dont have to slow as much to wait on oncoming traffic. Os usually right turns are more fun.

We ride on the other side of the road so we get more leftie practice

Hmmm. I've scratched my toe sliders on my right foot, but never my left. And yeah, come to think of it, I'm more comfortable leaning right. Maybe I just prefer it when the "pushing hand" is also the hand that controls the throttle.

Everybody has a "comfy" cornering direction, it's perfectly normal - just like some people shoot right handed and some shoot left handed.

Some people are suggesting that their comfy side correlates to the direction of turns they more often take and this has some correlation to which side of the road they drive on...

I seem to buck that trend.

New hypothesis. Close your eyes... Imagine infront of you is a long stretch of freshly waxed hardwood floors and you're wearing some brand new wool or polyester socks. You take a running start and slide across the hardwood floor.

Are you facing left of the direction you are sliding or right? (For those of you into board sports, goofy foot or regular)...

Any correlation to your comfy motorcyle cornering side ?? Mine correlates but correlation does not equal causation so what do you guys think? Is my hypothesis bunk or does it hold water for you?

Bunk. Just tried it - freaked out the cats and GOD knows what that poor lady thought when she looked in the living room window as she walked by - but nope, your theory doesn't work with me. I slide left, but my comfy corner is right.
