Is there a key slot anywhere near the seat?
My only guess is to head over to bikebandit.com and look up the OEM parts diagram and see where the seat lock is located. I used this when I couldn't figure out the mounting of the tail light lens (cruisers have the screws outside but this one was under the lamp).

Not sure on the F2. On the F3 it's under the left hand side *kickstand side* of the rear fairing. On the F4 and F4i, and 929 I know it's on the rear fender above the license plate light.
