"brand new" 2007/2008 motorcycle questions.

Looking for a couple of opinions here. Im looking into a 2008 Honda Interceptor. There are several dealerships in my area that are offering them still, with a logo "brand new 2008 Interceptor". For myself, i love the game of negotiation for automobiles, but there is something that irks me about this sign and the asking price. It's listed at the MSRP of 10,799. Now, my question is, how much does a motorcycle devalue unused on a car lot over the years? An 08 is manufactured mostly in 07, and the 08's started selling August of 2007, so as of now it could have been sitting pretty for 3 to 3.5 years unused on various car lots, not being run, not being road tested or driven, just sitting - how can a motorcycle retain its MSRP if no one wanted it for years? Second, if they DID happen to run this bike to keep the gears/engine fresh, how can a motorcycle retain it's MSRP if its been driven off the lot?
on this "brand new" cycle, what might be a good place to start negotiations? Base model, 2008 Honda Interceptor - little to no adjustments in design/specs for several years.
Thanks for the input!

I saw many simalr issues when I was shopping for my Versys. It all really depends on the desperation of the individual dealer. I personally would makesure you still get full warranty and try at about 2500 less than MSRP. Good luck.
If it has been kept in a temperature/climate controlled environment I don't see how much that would effect performance beyound a charge to the battery and some fluid changes.

The MSRP that you quoted looks like you are located in the US (they gouged us for 50% more in Canada even though the dollar is within a few % points) They are selling new ones on ebay for $7500 so I would expect that is the going price. That is such an awesome price I am tempted to drive down from Calgary and pick one up!

Desperation: check. 6 calls and 6 voicemails from 3 salesmen in 2 days since posting a mock quote request to gauge initial dealer interest. It's definitely a buyers market right now, even here in central FL with pretty good riding weather 10+ months out of the year. 2500 down sounds like a good start, though if the dealers around here are any indication, they keep the bikes outside on display during the day. Never dealt with a chain drive before, but my short experience riding this bike makes me feel like it might be worth the effort.
That eBay offer just might be worth a visit to Oklahoma sir!
Thank you both for your opinions and responses. Safe riding.
