hi nice to meet you all.
this seems like a good place to introduce my self. not really sure what to say. i live in new york city and am 43. i haven't ridden a bike since the 1980's. after graduating high school i got my hands on an old triumph bonneville. which didn't run very often. but when it did it was real nice. then i had a BSA. i have no idea what model the BSA was but it had a tank with a bronze star and i was told it was a lightning. i doubt the tank was original to the bike. the previous owner tried to chop it by putting extended forks on it with out raking the frame. didn't work out well but hey when i was 19 i thought it was cool. took trying to ride it a few times to figure out why the long fork was a bad idea. after that i retired it with delusions of putting a normal fork on it. but i never did. it ended up sitting in dad's garage for ten years as a box of parts. not really sure what happened to it. when dad passed away in 98 it wasn't in the garage. i have recently decided to get back in the saddle and find myself here. hoping to get some good advice. back in the saddle is probably an over statement i rode a total of maybe 20 or 30 times more then 20 years ago.
