Did you try to call AMA and ask for their list?

If you are an AMA member and you let your credit card automatically renew your subscription you get free towing service with them.

...... or a trailer and vehicle with a hitch. Ramp's built into the back of the trailer, and it has an device to hold the bike's front wheel.

unfortunately not an option. i live in new york city deep in queens on the nassau county broader. with the economy as it is. last year i lost my job as an office manager at a publishing company. i didn't need a car because i worked in manhattan with public transportation and all. plus i rent a room in my house to my brother. and use his car for grocery shopping and such. after being out of work for more then a year i took a job driving a truck. an occupation i am familiar with. after high school i drove a truck for a living for ten years, and used it to pay for college when i finally went. most of the good truck driving jobs are either in the bronx, out on long island or new jersey so i need to get my hands on reliable transportation. the commute via MTA to any of those locations would end up taking 2-3 hours each way. by car or bike around 30 minutes to the bronx or long island and i don't want to think about jersey. twenty minutes on the cross island parkway to either the white stone or throgs neck bridges and i am in the bronx. i know the major deegan is no place to ride but i figure once in the bronx i can use side streets. car insurance in the city here runs between $250-350 per month. where bike insurance is between $35 and 90. i can afford a bike. i have about 3 grand for a bike and can afford the insurance. right now i am in a two fair zone so end up paying about $150 per month for car fare to get to my current job. insurance and gas for a bike is much less and i'll be able to travel to a better paying job. right now i am driving out of barn in richmond hills for $11.50 per hour. to get a better paying job i need reliable transportation to take me to places that the MTA wont. funny how the wheel of fortune turns, not long ago i was making a comfortable living now i am one of the few people i know who is working.

i figure on spending about 2,000 on the bike a few hundred on a helm and the rest on protective clothing. i am expecting a $2,000 bike to be a handy man special. which will on occasion require tows.

thanks for listening to my rant. :)
