Dumb South Africans

#1 Unread post by sapaul »

Sometimes the people in SA are just plain thick. We now have some idiot radio station, the same one I did the world cup reporting for, telling all SOUTH AFRICANS to put the headlights on cars ON ALL THE TIME.

We have a campaign here to keep up the spirit we showed during the WC called LEAD SA. People are encouraged to come up with no cost ideas

Some dumb "O Ring" thought this was clever.

The only safeguard we have in daytime and now they want to negate it.

I AM NOT HAPPY
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S

Not sure I understand...
They want drivers to drive around with headlights on all the time?
And you're saying this is a bad thing because bikes' constantly on headlights will be negated?

We went to mandatory lights on in Canada 20 years ago with much of the same concern. In the end it doesn't much matter if they know if it is a bike when they see you, as long as they see you. After the change it was really hard to tell if the drivers were any more blind to bikes than they were before the change.

Exactly that, we don't have daylight savings or anything here, so winter and summer have 45 min difference. We have bright sunshine and very few overcast days. So our headlight on all the time has always been a big plus for us.

Ah well time to star a new campaign

Hasn't been an issue for the rest of the world. Canada and most of the EU require it, the US doesn't but most of our cars have daytime running lights anyway.
