Suzuki Engine Swaps

#1 Unread post by sk1mc »

I have an '83 GR650 Tempter with a siezed engine. Does anyone know if an engine from a GS or other bike from that era will mount up to my GR650, preferably without modifications?

Also, is there a book, website, or any other reference that would contain or provide information regarding engine swapping for Suzuki motorcycles?

If I was guessing(and I am) I would'nt bet that any GS engine but a 550 twin would fit in your frame. Once you get into the 4 cylinders things open up considerably. You can bolt in any 4 banger GS engine into any other GS, Katana, or GSXR(oil-cooled) chassis either directly or with very, very little modification.

You can try asking your question on this board.....

They may be able to help you.

Thanks for the help. I just posted there and hopefully I will get a reply. I really like my Tempter and I would love to find a way to keep it.
