Qualifying... Biaggi moving up the order and Haslam still looking solid on the BMW...

(i think the real fans are probably using live timing, twitter and fb a lot more than forums nowadays... yabbering away in real-time... not that TMW has had much of a race following in the past. What can fix that? hmmmmmmmm.... have to think about it.

Race 1 results attached...

The weather conditions changed a bit and it was good to see the fight for the final podium spot with Haslam, Laverty Melandri and others mixing it up...

Round 2 - results attached...

The main guys are strong... Great to see some guys from the UK doing the business out there, and the ex-GP riders, and the old-boys (also ex-GP) totally up to snuff. A little mistake from Corser when he was dicing in a 2nd-to-9th place chain of riders.

Qualifying without the spectacle of the old superpole has at least been made safer for the riders.

The battles for 2nd-to-9th were this close...

with nice passing manoeuvres... definitely more awesome racing to come as teams improve setups, riders come to terms with new bikes and return to health, and other tracks favour other bikes and riders...

The World Supersport race had 9 riders within a second, then 7 riders within 2 seconds with 9 laps left and things got interesting.

Triumph losing the ParkinGo squad to Yamaha has turned out to have been the best thing for Davies and Scassa. No more worries about too little horsepower. The Triumph's probably needed a little adjustment to the rulebook to be competitive... little weight reduction or throttle body change... subtle tweaks.

However restricting the rules in Superbike hasnt hampered Aprilia's RSV4, and the top-flight Ducati's (Althea were solid, but Phillip Island has always suited them).

Exciting stuff! I'm keeping up with it as well daily.

Thanks for posting all this and keeping the excitement going for World Superbike!

no worries, Mike. When I have time it's good to put some energy into helping people out, and throwing a little commentary and fun into the mix too.

Luckily I have time to contribute until something pans out for me locally, and lately I have been thinking that instead of spreading myself thin on a variety of interests that it would really be great to focus on the stuff I always return to and love the best and just forget the rest.

It'll be great to see if and when Rossi gets into WSBK. Not that it's not already great. Some races the competition is just amazing. I couldn't find an upload of the Philip Island races so was unable to watch them. Anyone know where I can download them from.

Let's see... what are the chances....

Well, If Rossi crashes big time and suffers a massive (probably brain) injury requiring years of recovery, then your wish *might* come true. Or maybe when he is as old and slow as ex-GP guys, Biaggi and Checa he will consider downgrading from his current carbon-fibre fantastic machine to wobbly Superbikes for some fun. Or Ducati will run out of money to race GP and a loophole in his 60-page MotoGP contract will allow Ducati to force him into WSBK. Or maybe just to help promote Ducati they will cajole coherce or coo him into a SBK race before the 2025 season. I'm just waiting for that one!

... so there is always hope.

but I am more hopeful that you will find the SBK races online rather than finding Rossi in one of those races... and since Rossi did team with Colin Edwards way back when to race a Superbike in the Suzuka 8-hours (probably 10 years ago now), if you absolutely must see Rossi on a Superbike (an RC45 or RC51 I think) then go searching for that too.
