Coming soon...
I think he has now got all the details right, including not being part of H-D any longer.
Let's hope he doesnt have to buy his way into any race series either, racing an 1190 against 600s, which will be ridiculous enough with Ducati running the 848 Evo this year.

Yep racing's version of overzealous affirmative action and reverse discrimination.
That being said, Erik Buell is an immensely talented an innovative engineer. I am looking forward to what he will be doing now that he doesn't have Harley Davidson tying one arm and one leg behind his back.

You cant tell in that photo but it's draped in carbon-fibre.
Definitely he is one the most innovative and successful engineers in North America on the bike side of things. A couple others that spring to mind are James Parker of RADD fame and Mike Czysz, now doing electric stuff.
Here's an associated news bit:
"Writing in American Motorcycle Dealer, respected journalist Alan Cathcart reports on growing stockholder unrest following Harley management’s decision to shutter rather than sell Buell. According to Cathcart, Bombardier made two separate offers to Harley after Buell’s closure was announced, but both were declined seemingly for reasons of vanity. Now, HD stockholders have savvied to the fact that declining the offers cost the hemorrhaging doo-rag manufacturer $125 million in shutdown costs and potentially many times more due to negative publicity. Remember, Harley shut Buell without first calculating the costs..."
-- go figure the ego problem on this move -- sheer stupidity when money and progress were right at the door stop. Shameful really from a common-sense stand-point.
