I am looking to get my first bike. I am small in stature. I want a medium cruiser. I like the Vulcan 750 BUT.. It has 29 inch seat height. I can barely reach the ground in a seated position, and even then I am afraid I will burn my leg on the exhaust. I noticed that it has adjustable rear suspension. Can that be lowered a couple of inches to allow me more room or possible another seat would lower it more also?

Usually adjustable suspension means you can control how stiff the shocks are. Some bikes have optional lowering kits, but these will affect how the bike handles, usually in an adverse manner.
If memory serves the Vulcan is actually a fairly... tall bike. You might want to check out the following, which are all the sort of standard bikes to recomend.
Suzuki
C40
C50
Honda
Shadow - any of the 650-750
Yamaha
V-star 650
They are all pretty low to the ground, have good power, and are great to learn on.

I think the vulcan500en has a 27.1 inch seat hieght (approximately

). Did you sit on one of those? It is also a very capable bike with great handling and plenty of power, even for some two-up riding around thown or short trips. I'ts definitely worth a try if your inseam allows.

It has to be only Vulcan? There are other models of middle weight class cruiser that you can choose from like V-Star custom/classic, Honda VLX or even salvage S40.

It does not have to be a Vulcan. It just has many thing I like. Shaft Drive, Gages. I like the s40 but it does not have shaft drive and is a single head. I do like the s50 but it does not fit me well either. I shall find something. The Viragi 250 by Yamaha fits very well but is too small(cc wise anyway)

Gee... does it even have to be new??? There are a lot of great used buys to be had in just about every town I've ever been in... For example, here is a bike for sale Listed yesterday on the Phoenix Craigslist...

By "Viragi 250 " I supose you mean Virago, lol. I have a '95 Virago 1100 that just spun over to 120,000kms,
(or 74,564 miles) last night. It's a great bike and runs well. With my short legs I can flat foot on that bike and still have my knees bent. The only problem I have with the bike is that it is now too small, (Wheelbase etc.) for me, so I'm lookin' to buy a Midnight Venture next season... I hope I hope I hope.....
