there is a possibility that I will get a dealer bike to run in for them before they go out to the media. I really feel this could be my next bike. Full house with a small screen for touring, but the Classic look with a much improved engine.

OOOHHHH sounds cool.

It's got laced wheels - tubed tires, then? Do you want to mess with tubes? (Saying that, I must admit one of my bikes has laced wheels and I haven't had an issue with tubes in 5 1/2 years)

I suspect they will have the patented tubeless spoked wheels that the GS has. They have formed the rims so that the spoke heads are actually outside of the tyre seat. This allows for tubless tyres. It is not uncommon for GS 1200's to be fitted with full on road tyres

No, this bike is not for you. You would look ugly on it. I, on the other hand, would look dashing on it.

I think that bike deserves a young rider such as myself. I think it would be doing a disservice to BMW's reputation for a couple of geezers like yall riding it. I mean, who wants to see such a purty bike with it's blinker on for thirty miles? Or doing that goofy "stop sign shuffle?"

LOL you guys are funny

JohnJ, that's fat and ugly to you and don't you forget it.

FG, I think you are right, it does deserve a young rider (my mental age and chronological age are very different)

Fantastic bike (and free use of pretty much any bike is always great) but doesn't it kinda overlap with your GS? Maybe a bit lighter, a bit more nimble, but really, what can it do that your GS can't?

You actually have me there, I am looking to keep the GS and sell my R850R, so maybe I am just playing it safe.

How about a KTM 990 super Motard then.

I like the look of it. I find myself already eyeing fancier bikes that have a similar upright position to my GS500F. I do not think I would be comfortable outside the city on a more typical/hunched sport bike, but enjoying the nimble lightweight sportbike benefits :D.
