I have decided to stay on my continent. I'm going to start in Merrit/Kamloops and then head to Drumheller. Then I may head south a bit.....sunshine229 wrote:Hey ladies, sorry for missing the posts above so far...
Yep we'll be taking the vacation somewhere in Europe. We drove to and through Scotland last March (it even snowed on us!) and are planning a trip to Ireland probably for September. We weren't planning on NE Ireland though... hmmm.. maybe a re-think is in order?
We are thinking about driving to the continent and touring as far as we can in a couple of weeks. The other option is a bus/coach trip to the same. Either way there are so many places still to see in Europe, the sky's the limit!
Blues, come on over with your new passport and we'll meet up with you wherever you want to go...

I have never been past Calgary.....and the badlands should not be too crowded because school is in.sunshine229 wrote:Good call! Sounds like a fantastic itinerary.
I was reading up on the area and the museum.....it intrigued me to want to go.

If you can get over the awe of the Rocky Mountains then the badlands will blow you away! Alberta has some really amazing scenery. Enjoy it and let us know how it goes!!!

Oh I will...I plan to do some photography while there. I have extra batteries and extra memory cards. I have never been to Banff, the Columbia Ice fields, Lake Louise., etc.....so I'll do some stopping in there also.sunshine229 wrote:If you can get over the awe of the Rocky Mountains then the badlands will blow you away! I should have a great set of photos for this trip.
Should I get a lap top for the trip so I can download images into it for storage?

You should get a laptop for the trip so you can upload your pics daily, so we can see where you are and what you're doing....blues2cruise wrote:Should I get a lap top for the trip so I can download images into it for storage?

Re: Ladies - how do you feel today?
I'm thinking of picking up a netbook for my ride, so that I can charge my camera and dump the pics onto it...
I'm heading out for a long weekend ride with a buddy of mine...leaving Sept. 10th and returning on Sept. 12th...may leave in the evening of Sept. 9th to leave more touring time each day...
This is the route we are planning starting in Sylvan Lake, AB...first night in Cranbrook, BC...second night in Revelstoke, BC...then back to Sylvan Lake...not sure of what your schedule is, but it would be cool to meet you for a coffee somewhere along the ride if our schedules match...

Sorry for the thread jack in the "Ladies Lounge"...
Later.

Re: Ladies - how do you feel today?
I am feeling both anxious & old.
Anxious because..........My professional registration runs out at midnight on 31st. I should have paid it when they sent me reminder ages ago. Of course as usual I forgot & now have to wait for salary to clear. Should be ok as I can pay online or by phone............down to the wire as usual!
Old because...........my new annual registration will make it 30yrs since I qualified!!

I will still be in the Nicola Valley when you take your ride. Then I'll be in the Okanagan for a couple of days before I make my way east to the Rockies.
It might be doable once I am in Alberta........
