Chain Lube
So I bought a spray bomb of Bardhal spray lube for the chain on my old bike. Seems pretty good, no drips on floor so far. Anybody here ever tried it? Any thoughts - suggestions?

Personally I've always preferred chain wax . Makes less mess .

The last time I used9or seen) Bardal lube products was about 15 years ago. It was adequate, but didn't stand out as fantastic or anything. Any lube is better than no lube.
I am in Wizzard's camp with the chain wax. Works just as well as oil-based lubes and makes less mess. Fling is almost non-existant. I used PJ-1 chain wax right now, but any major brand should be just as good.

I read on the internet about the difference between wax and oil. http://www.motorcycleanchor.com Click on how to on the left. It pretty much says that if you live in sandy or dirty areas, use oil because wax tends to collect dirt better than oil. It also said that oil has the fling-factor which helps to keep dirt off of the chain. I don't know how much of this is true, since I have not dealt with chain lubes in two years. By Febuary of next year, I will know more. Hope this helps a little.

On my dirtbikes, I find oil based lubes collect far more dirt than the wax types, for whatever that's worth. Dirt sticks to the oil far better than it does to the wax. Flinging off lube as a dirt removal method sounds like over-lubing to me. But I've never made a dedicated study of both types...... however, I will stay with the wax. Especially on a streetbike, which doesn't see all that much dirt, really.
I still say use either one you prefer. Just make sure to use it. And clean the chain when it is dirty. Otherwise your just pushing that dirt into your chain with the lube.

We have neither lawn or a garage . What we have is good old fashion dirt . We also have 3 dogs that run around making lots of dust . I use chain wax on my spousette's Marauder and it does not accumulate dust or dirt on her chain .
Just my 2¢ worth .
