Hello and something new for me...

#1 Unread post by RhadamYgg »

Hey Everyone,
I hope you have all been well and have been safe on the roads. Its been a long time since I've been here. I went skydiving recently and I found that most of the skydivers I spoke with were also motorcyclists.
So... Here are two videos I have of my first skydiving trip. I'd love to know if any of you have gone skydiving. I'm definitely up for doing it again - starting the AFF course - and well skydiving with other people.

First video - my chest mounted GoProHD camera that I normally use on my motorcycle:

The second video - taken by the instructor. Not sure what camera, but its got one helluva fisheye on it.

The family is all doing well - if any of you remember - I've got twins and one had lots of surgery - both twins are doing well and are just over 2 years old. My boys are doing well - if being pains in the butt is doing well...

Oh, Jeez, now I have to update my miles on the signature.

Hey Rhadam it's good to hear from you. Skydiving eh...well it's a lot of fun (unless your carrying 60lb of gear). I'm glad to hear the twins are doing well and boys will be boys. Stay in touch.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Hey Johnj! At this point since I weight 195 pounds - carrying another 60 lbs of gear wouldn't be a good thing.

Thanks Sunshine! I was so motivated to do it after hearing about a 100 year old man did it. It was an incredible experience that I highly recommend! Once you get over the initial fear - and study the statistics - I don't think it is as dangerous as people think. Of course, multiple failures is harder to recover from when skydiving, just as its harder to recover from in riding a motorcycle and driving a car.

Are you still out in England?

Ahhh sadly, no. I rented the ST1300 for three days when I was out in Las Vegas - rode it to Grand Canyon, changed my plans completely when I got there and rode back. 850 miles total.

Followed one of my Facebook friends advice that lives in Arizona "Oh, its always hot here, bring your hot weather gear!" I froze my "O Ring" off and a few other bits too. I experienced what is called "Pan-weave" on it... Felt as insecure on it passing trucks at speed on the highway as I did on my Ninja 250. Survivable, but not particularly enjoyable. Everything else about that bike - was incredible. Oh, except for the cold. Riding through the mountains... It was beautiful (and cold).

I want a new bike, I'm due based on my previous behavior pattern. But my car is almost 10 years old (and all owned by me) and I need to replace it. So, it looks like I'll have the FZ6 for 2 years or around 11,000 miles.

I had my wife look at a new Camaro 2LT with the RS package - but she didn't like it. Not a deal breaker, but heavily stacks the cards against it. She wants me to buy a Honda and I'm looking at a Civic Si Coupe... But I'm so sick of Honda. I mean I love Honda, but I've owned Honda's for 19 years - it'll be 20 years if I keep this car until March 2012. And I'm not sure if the Civic Si does "it" for me.

wow. That must have been an amazing experience. How accurate can you be when landing? I always imagined not that precise with skydiving but in the vid it looks like you planned a very exact spot to land.

Welcome back, good to see you again.
