Too Wet for Tennis

It's a wet & dreich grey day here in Blighty.
:rainyday:

The tennis at Queens has been postponed because of the rain, (with Scot Andy Murray in the final)!

However up at Silverstone there is no such poncing about. The bikes are all out on a wet track. Final was vey eventful with lots of big names falling over!

Best of all............cos our good old BBC had allocated the afternoon schedule to tennis we are now watching extended live coverage of the full programme at Silverstone! :clapping:

How come bikers can literally risk their lives in the rain whilst 2 very well paid tennis players don't want to catch a chill? :?

The real problem is nobody has designed a wet traction tennis shoe

Yeah the weather is bleak so I'm not surprised the tennis was cancelled. Our friend will be happy as he is the IT guy for Queen's Club - he's been working huge OT to be there during the games but if he wasn't needed today than maybe he got lucky and had the day off!!!

Just out of curiosity...have you ever tried to bounce a tennis ball in the rain? I'm guessing the cancellation of the game has more to do with that than just grown men being wimps. I'm just saying! :turned:

Last year I was caught in the bike traffic leaving Silverstone (300 of them with me), the M40 was closed due to a diesel spill so all 300 of us had to wait for the highway to re-open.

When it did, speed limit 70 mph.

M40: $10 Billion
300 Bikes: $3,000,000
0-70mph in 3 seconds surrounded by 300 bikes: Priceless.

Yes, we were really lucky to see that extended coverage at Silverstone because the Tennis Finals had to be called off because of the rains – one man’s loss another’s gain!! Quite enjoyed reading that bit about the tennis players not being able to play tennis while the bikers are busy with their finals at Silverstone!!
