reccomendations or warnings against different rain gear

After all these years of just dealing with it I want to purchase some rain gear. I think that a one piece suit will serve my needs best. I see Nelson Rigg fairly commenly online as well as joe rocket. My joe rocket meteor 6 jacket has served me well but I am not thrilled with its build quality same with the matching pants. I have a speed and strength mesh jacket supposed to arrive tuesday I paid 35$ for it brand new and free shipping. The mesh jacket is a long awaited purchase for me. I got stuck in traffic for an hour beside a semi with heat blasting out of it and the road baking ......... wound up sitting in the woods with jacket thrown over the bike and me looking like roadkill. Anyone with good or bad experience with any rain gear please help me spend wisely. It seems I get to buy a piece of gear every year so I have to make it count.
