Whenever I've ridden in the rain- my feet get soaked. Is this my problem or do others have this happen too? I got a mud flap that hangs low on the front fender - it helps but I get hit with the water anyway. I haved used a cheesy yellow rainsuit with duct tape (for repairs). The rain shoots up my arms, or soaks my gloves. I stick it out- but a pain to arrive at work like this. What do you do? I ride a Suzuki GN400.
-anything from asia around here is called a riceburner

Get a rain suit - the kind that has velcro or similar fastener at the ankles, and some water-proof gloves - the gauntlet type. Oh, and water-proof boots. If you have to ride in the rain on a regular basis, it makes sense to invest in some decent rain gear.

If you are short on funds and cannot afford to buy waterproof boots yet, a pair of cycling booties would be an inexpensive solution for the time being.
You could also wear a pair of large rubber gloves over your motorcycle gloves. They are the kind of gloves that fish plant workers use....they come in black.....unless of course you like the yellow and pink kind.
I have some goretex ski pants with a built in gator and a longish rubber raincoat. Works like a charm.
I splurged on the goretex boots and waterproof gloves. Oh, and I put a visor liner in the visor....It stopped the fogging up on the rainy days.

Good tips, Blues.
I used to wear a pair of cheap snow-pants (The cover-alls type - 20 clams from Wally world) over my regular clothes, when I was commuting on my bike in the winter. They were wind and water-proof. I also wore a cheap rain coat, which offered good wind and water protection as well as making me more visible in bright yellow. (Okay, so I'm not very fashion conscious. At least I was warm, dry and safe.

)
As for water-proof boots: I currently wear Hi-tec Magnum boots which are insulated, and water-proof. They are all leather mid-way up my calf. I bought them from the Hi-tec outlet store near me for $37.00.
To keep your head warm, I also highly recommend a balaclava under your helmet. A sweat-shirt with a hood works in a pinch, too.

I'll try and find out what my dad and his co-workers wear. They probably spend a fortune, but I know they have gear that has to be simple to get on and off yet last them an 8 hour day in Seattle rain on a bike so yea. I know they even had/have stuff that plugs into the lighter/thingy and they are heated. Psha police officers have it good =P
Of course one of my dad's friends wont wear rain gear you could always just go with that. I guess that could work when you ride all day, come home and shower and whatnot, prolly wouldn't work too well on the way to the office

A couple pairs of those heavy duty plastic snap up the sides track pants will keep your legs dry, and you can keep them unbuttoned in your saddle/tankbag and just snap them up over your regular pants. Make sure they're actually water-proof first. Then, any reasonably tight fitting waterproof jacket that will fit over yours is a good thing. I got mine for $20 off some e-bay motorcycling supplier, works REALLY well.
First Gear I believe it was.

Why does rain gear always have such short legs? I am 6ft and every pair of wet weather pants I have owned ride up as soon as I sit on the bike. The sizes get bigger but not longer. They all have about a foot or two spare in the crotch though.

I wear Gortex Jacket and over pants in the rain...
Cost to me... $0.00...
I just peeled off the
Canada Post/Postes Canada flashes...
Post office really treats me nice sometimes, not very often, but sometimes...
