I don't know much about scooter but do wish to learn.
What make/models will cruise (not have a death scream) at 65 mph?
This is not a touring question, just if someone needed to get from point "A" to point "B" and needed to keep up in traffic how many scooters are capable of doing that now?
With a CVT system and smaller rim sizes, high speeds are really limited.

I would say the Suzuki Burgman can do it easily as it is a 650cc.

Even the Burgman 400 will do 65. The 65 will do 100 without too much trouble.

I have a Kymco Grand Vista, does 145-150 KMH on the highway and is big enough to carry two comfortably with plenty under seat space and a top box luggage rack on the back. No need to spend big money on a Burgman

FLW---i had a yamaha tmax 500, 2 yrs. 4200 miles. it would do what ever i wanted it to. 105 was the fastest i had it. still had more throttle. it is the biggest scooter i know of. has 15'' wheels front and back. arond 50 mpg. i think new list now is 8400$. i traded for a H-D. i miss the trist & go. i didn't like the burgham, 1 thing was size of wheels. i wanted big wheels. its been a long time now But, they made a high wheel 250 across the pond. never made it to the us. if it had i'd got 1. what ever you get, get it closest to where you live so you can get it work on and get att. and what ever, you will want to add on.
go to photo gallery picture is small click on harley davison pic. & down more click on dirt dobber. i rode with the big boys & trail of tears. 2010.
edit,, 4200 miles is wrong, that's when i had front tire replaced, i started running 3lb more air and moving over to left more when i could. they say crown of road has nothing to do with cupping, well it had 8300 miles on it when i traded & it was just begging to show a little wear & cupping. can't remember tire brand, what ever came on it, replaced with same.

Piaggio MP3 400 can easily do it. In fact, if you're not careful on it, you can find yourself happily zipping along at 80 with a cop on your tail...

Not that you would know from experience or anything...

So from what I have so far only the following scooters can currently run at 65 mph without damaging the engine;
Suzuki Burgman 400
Kymco Grand Vista
Yamaha tmax 500
Piaggio MP3 400
Were there any missed?
