Ok, since I am a motorcycle infant, i'm gonna ask you guys all the dumb newbie questions...
Seriously, though.. I have a crappy old half helmet that's not very comfortable...
I know I want a full face helmet... Can anybody give a good suggestion for a solid all around safe helmet with low noise and good visibility for under $230?
thanks in advance!

I just bought a Scorpion helmet about a month ago. They are relatively new in the market, so I was a bit wary of what they could provide for my budget, but their helmets are very comfortable and have a nice venting system. Nice variety of colors too. My helmet was around $200. Good luck in your search.
Cheers,
Loonette
p.s. I'm going to move this to "New Bikers" forum since this forum is mostly for introductions.

Thanks so much for the info!
That guide really helped me pick out my helmet today.
I didn't have enough money for the Arai helmets, but i tried some on, and after doing some of the tests that were talked about, I have to say that they feel very good, and high quality...
Anyway, I ended up getting an HJC helmet that I am so far very happy with. (we'll see for sure after the road test)
I'm glad I read the page that Aggroton linked to, cause it made me buy the right size for sure.
I have a pretty big head (or so I thought) and the other week while trying on helmets, I thought that a large in most brands was the way to go. Once I read the info you posted for me, I was thinking maybe a medium... Now, after the in-store tests I've found that the HJC small size is perfect for me.. and the model I got (AC-11) is very comfortable.
Thanks again

I picked up a nice full-faced Vega that matches my bike and riding gear from Iron Pony for $70.00 on clearance. Of course, I haven't worn it since the temperature outside got above 60-degrees, but it'll be there waiting for me in the Fall.
