On a wet clutch bike like the SV650S, I use motorcyle specific oil WITHOUT moly.

Your manual should tell you which one they recommend, I'm sure they will say Suzuki oil.
Any motorcyle oil that meets the requirement stated in the manual should be fine.
Some will even tell you car oil as long as it is not energy conserving is fine...

Car oil may or may not make your clutch slip, I personally would not take the chance.

Yup, go into the parts store, look for a motorcycle-specific oil, use it.

Wrider do you know of anyone or any of your customers who used car oil and the wet clutch slipped?

I do. It was one of the problems from my brothers 535 Yamaha. I've seen it a couple of times.

I once had a Yamaha XT225 and that too the wet clutch slipped when I added some car oil to it.

Honestly I haven't seen it personally, but I know of three guys who said it happened to them, and I'd much rather play safe than sorry when it comes to replacing a clutch.

I have seen it happen to others. I have had it happen to my own my first dirt bike. I changed the oil every track weekend and thought just this once wont hurt anything. I used the same weight oil just regular automotive oil and the clutch started slipping right after the change. The clutch wasnt very old either. And after I replaced the oil again I had to replace the clutch because it still slipped. I don't know about where you are but autozone and advanced both carry motorcycle specific oil for half what the bike shops sell it for.
