Hey everyone,

I ride a 99 Ninja 250 and have a huge problem right now. When I start the bike, the engine runs fine. I am not sure what is wrong but I am able to change gears from N to 1st without using the clutch. The N light turns off but the bike does not feel like it is going into first because I don't have my hand on the clutch and the bike is still running. When I try to accelerate, the engine just revs. I am totally confused. Any suggestions?

You can do that on just about any bike. The question is, why are you doing it?

The transmission is still in "neutral". It is actually in between neutral and first but still in neutral...

Yes, use the clutch.
