Just a post to say hello really. Picked up a 94 Virago yesterday and have been like a kid at Christmas ever since.

Just sold an '84 Virago 1000 to my brother-in-law . It was modified as all my scoots tend to be .
Will have to post some pics of the Cafe Cruiser......

A weird thing happened last night - a few friends came over, looked at the bike and one of them piped up "That's a bloody girls bike! They were designed for girls!" (no offence to the ladies here of course).
What was he waffling on about? Am I missing something here?
The fact is, I'm over the proverbial moon about the bike, it rides well, enough power for me and looks good. What I don't understand is why would the Yam be classed as a girl's bike???

I keep hearing all this girls bike stuff, so what classifys a bike as a boy's bike I wonder!!!
I'm limited only by my ability to reach the ground, and keep the bike in an upright position. Maybe we should refer to them as tall person or short person bikes, that would make more sense.
Seems some of us girls have bikes with a lot of cc's so it can't be that!!!

Disregard those kind of comments . They are usually made by blathering fools . Most of which don't even own scoots .
Jealousy often rears it's ugly head . Besides , now you can collect a new circle of friends .

Ya, try and not worry about the crud that comes out of the mouths of others. Your "friends" should just be happy that you're happy with your ride, instead of trying to stuff it in some sort of pigeon hole. It's a very out-dated sort of thing to say, and they don't really know what they're talking about. Just enjoy yourself and your ride.

Love the Virago......I have owned 4 Viragos in the past...a '82 750, a '82 920 and 2 1100's.
If they still made Virago's today, I would have bought one in a heartbeat!
