i had a yamaha tmax before i got a sportster, i didn't have to worry about rain so much. But i got cought in a rain 1 night & my legs got soaking wet down into my boots, finally figured out why, it was spray front the front wheel mosley. Question, has anybody used these shields? if so, do you like them? any draw back like cousing engine to over heat?

"Soft Lowers" have been around for years. Harley sells them for just about every model they make (assuming one has installed crash bars on models that don't come with them from the factory) and there are a few aftermarket manufacturers that sell them, too. There are no drawbacks to using them other than a slight reduction in fuel economy, but you should take them off before doing any prolonged, low speed stop-and-go riding to maximise airflow to the motor.
