Just purchased a 81 Honda CM400C, with 3,500 Original miles on it. and it is very clean!

I mostly drive a XT-225, around, but I bought this, because it was clean, runs like a top, and low miles.

Want to watch, and learn, and perhaps ask questions if I need to do anything with this one.

From Minn, 20 miles West of the TC's

Looking for a original Rear Cargo rack,
A Shock Re-Builder, for the soft original ones.

Thanks for your time.

:welcome2: to our community! I think you will find a home here. We love old Honda's and a lot of us have owned them our past so we can happily answer any questions you have. :D

Both I and my wife owned CB400's, I a 1980 CB400T and 1981 CM400C and my wife a 1981 Honda CB400T.

The one you purchased looks great for it's age and just 3,500 miles on it? WOW.

For shocks, just measure hole to hole and check out eBay or a junk yard, but your shocks won't be worn out. Progressive Suspension makes some really great ones.

I had some questions I posted over on the 'Honda' form.
No one has answered, outside of the 'welcome'.

If you had time, perhaps you could look ?
Thanks.

Of course I would be happy to answer any questions there. The Honda forum is good for general Honda chit-chat, if you have more specific questions (like garage stuff), it's best to post in the garage forums. :D

UPDATE: I moved your post to the garage forum ( General Motorcycle Maintenance & Appearance Forums) but I think you should re-title your topic as "1981 Honda CM400C" doesn't say what you are asking and it won't attract attention other than you have a 1981 Honda CM400C. Maybe 1981 Honda CM400C shock rebuild or 1981 Honda CM400C rack options might be better?

Yup, lots of old Honda bike owners here. :revv:
