Aftermarket exhaust & sliders for 2007 Honda 919

Hi,

I just put money down for a 2007 Honda 919 w/ 3500 miles on it. I'm soooo excited!

Anyway, there are two mods that I will want to do pretty quickly after I get it:
1) Install sliders (crash protection, or whatever you call it):
I've read some reviews around the web, and I see all kinds of opinions about which brand or type to get. I'm pretty sure I don't want the Sato because I saw a photo of an engine damaged by their crash sliders. So far, the ones that "look" the best to me, but I haven't seen them in real life, only on photos, are the GSG frame sliders.
Does anybody out there has had (unfortunately) experience in that field? Did they work? Which kind?

2) Aftermarket exhaust:
Beautiful bike, great engine but... is sounds like a vacuum cleaner
And, if I can gain a little bit of power that'd be icing on the cake.
Some are very expensive, but have very good reputation, others are much less expensive, but are they any good? Are there mods you can apply to the stock exhaust? (exhaust surgery)
Also, if I modify/exchange the exhaust, will I have to modify the engine settings or is that not necessary?

Thanks!

Guy

What I can tell you is when I met Jason Britton and his other riders, I asked about mods on their bikes. One is they all use six inch sliders and if they didn't they be replacing expensive plastic panels after every show.

It keeps the bikes looking great after every drop.

Also if bike lands on their leg, they don't get stuck or burned.
