...If I were to ride say 100km without stopping? Should I let it cool down every now and then or is it fine to ride long distances in one go?

My bike is 150cc, can do about 110kmph and has air cooling.

If it overheats there's something wrong with it.

The longest distance I've traveled without stopping is 210 miles which is about 335 km. ('87 Kawasaki ZG1000) Don't worry, your bike won't overheat as long as air moves over it.

No as Wrider and John stated, it would not overheat as long as you are moving. That being said...

Couple of caveats here....

1. Since this is a new engine, I would not recommend 100km at sustained throttle as you want the engine to break-in at different rpms. It would be fine once the engine is broken in.

2. This is especially so if this trip requires that you keep the throttle at full for a long period of time to sustain a safe speed (something that is often unavoidable on a 150cc aircooled 4-stroke).

When would the engine be broken in?

Didn't you get an owners manual when you bought the bike? Most of the time it's 1000 km change oil and check valve settings. Next service @ 10,000 km.

I just checked the owners manual and it says at 300/1000km I have to replace the oil, clean the oil filter strain and lubricate the clutch and cable, throttle and speedometer cables and the transmission chain and sprocket.

It doesn't sound like much at all; nothing like checking head bolt torque or valve adjustments. Are you able to do this stuff on your own?

Yes doing it on my own would be no problem.
