In your part of the world, there has to be a little "something special". I'm lucky enough to live in an area that has a whole lot of those special spots. One such spot is just a ferry ride and a few hours drive, then a 45 - 60 minute hike, away from my home. It's the Skookumchuck Rapids. Now we're not talking a nice little river in the country, but hard core tidal rapids cause when the tide changes and flows through Skookumchuck Narrows on the Sunshine Coast in BC.
