I'm heading off on a fairly long trip in a week or so and I'm thinking about my tires. They will be roached when I get back for sure, so I'm thinking of changing them before I go, just for good measure. Problem is, as always, money. The wife seen my new riding jacket and now she insists on getting one too. I'm all for that, but it's going to eat the rubber budget up for sure.

So my question to you is, how is that new Chen-shin meat on your bike? And what size do you run? Any chance of a few pics of it, showing the side veiw and one of the tread?

I know you were running a BT-45 before and liked it. I am running one now, but I'm not so impressed with it. Leaned over, I expect my bike to break the rear loose if I get too carried away, but it will break loose in a straight line all too easily too. If I don't get my weight back and do everything just right, it will roast the tire instead of... oh, I don't know.... let's say... lift the front wheel at about 30. How is your new, new tire for traction?

Thanx for any light you can shed on this black subject.

I found a brand called King's Tire at an independent shop here. He also sells Cheng shin, and claims these are better. I can't vouch for that, though. The first one (King's) I used was slippery over on the edge, and in the rain, and under power...like yours. The better model (still a cheap tire) is a world of difference. If you can find them, I'm liking the premium model for low cost, and good traction. It seems to be wearing better, too.
