BMW F650 GS Chain slapping

I have a bmwF650gs 2008 model 800cc twin, It has the factory fitted lower suspension and seat for a lower seat height. When i bought it i herd the noise but was assured it was probabley a service item ie loose chain so would be dealt with in service period. However 18 months on i have been informed that in actual fact it is a characteristic of the bike due to the revised geometry of the suspension and can not be cured. The chain tension is very tight with hardley any movement set by BMW workshop, yet the slapping is still there and is driving me made to the point that it distracts my attention while riding.
Does any one have any thoughts / comments please.
So far after prolonged written correspondence with BMW i am getting no where. They appear to think its ok. to ride at 3000rpm in every gear at any speed to try to lessen the chain slapping noise.
