BMW F650 GS 2008 model Chain slapping

Has any one out there got a F650 GS 800 twin with factory fitted lower seat height suspension. My Bike has a chain slap that is so bad that the chain tension is so tight set by BMW engineers to try and limit the slapping that they say is a characteristic of the revised geometry of the lowered suspension. it would appear to me that this is a design fault that they are trying to avoid taking responsibility for. Surely the ware and tear to the chain, sprockets etc must become a problem in the future. the only way i have found to try to lessen the slapping is to ride at 3000rpm in all gears no matter what speed, and with a 6 speed gear box means around town at 30mph i am in 2nd gear, who needs 6 gears. Any feed back would be appreciated.

Have you tried raising it to the stock height?

What do you mean by raising it to the stock height?

Your bike has been lowered, can you raise it back to the stock height?

I believe the non telelever BMWs with the low suspension option comes with a shorter rear shock.

From what I understand this fellow had the dealer lower the bike. That being so, the dealer (or the person that lowered it) should have the parts to raise it back up.

He may have had, but it's also a factory option on the F650GS. My wife's bike has the factory lower suspension.

My bike was bought with the factory fitted lower suspension, the point i am trying to make is this, has any one got a similar problem with this model, or any bike for that matter. I believe its a design fault not a characteristic of the bike , this i believe is a BMW get out clause. There is no information given by BMW about it and i test road a new bike with the standard suspension which was fine so i had no idea that because the suspension was lower it would be any different. When i test road my bike i was told that the chain slapping would be put right in the service before i took delivery, probably the chain needed tightening.
