Hi Guys... From Ontario

#1 Unread post by jaybee »

HI..

Thought I should throw up a quick intro. Hope this is the right place to do so.....

Moved here from the UK, just over 2 years ago. Together with my wife and youngest son and 12 week old Border Collie. Eldest son is still back in the UK.

Filled up 2 containers with all our stuff..... House contents, 1969 Dodge A100 pickup street/strip beast. Bonnie strapped to the bed, and a 1964 Plymouth Fury.

Things were good for a few months.... Then my company dived back in the UK! The recession hit us hard.
So, the A100 had to go, as we were living off our savings.... A couple of days ago the Bonnie was sold off... I still have the Fury here, but all 3 of us are unemployed at the moment... But hey, we have our health! And things can turn around in a heartbeat!

We are looking to the future in a positive manner. I am head designing my next bike, this time it will be a bobber! British of course, may even be a single cylinder! But will be pretty plain n simple. Well apart from the paint. I am a custom painter and airbrush artist, so my vehicles tend to get painted quite often.

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck...but your bike project sounds cool!!

Welcome to the forum!!

So is painting your "trade" or did you come to Canada for work of a different kind? (either way, the work opportunities are out west)
Anyway, I hope it works out better for you soon and we see lots of you around the forum...oh yeah, we like pics so feel free to post some of your work up!!

Later.

It can only get better, right?

I work on the graphic side of advertising. So mostly work for the big Ad, Agencies, so Need to be as close to Toronto as possible.

The custom paint and airbrushing has always been a natural progression from that really.

I came to Canada as an investor.... I invested all my worldly goods into the Canadian Government, to help the economy in exchange for Permanent Residence.

Kinda backfired on me though! LOL! I can post up some pics in the future.

Here is a car I painted and lettered just before I moved here...

And this is a small doodle I done last night, trying out a new airbrush...

It's a '71... And he has it up for sale at the moment. Really high quality nostalgic car.

Very nice!! Too bad you are so damn far away...I have a fuel tank that is in need of some work (and after seeing the skull helmet, that could use a hit too)...but I probably couldn't afford it...looks awesome though!!

Distance is never a problem. I get work in from Calgary quite often, I still get work in from the UK!

As for price, well, I can't give it away. But sometimes I can work within a budget.

PM me if you like.

Jeff
