Biker eulogies??

#1 Unread post by mogster »

Our good friend who died unexpectedly in the early ours of Christmas Eve has finally been released & we are able to plan his funeral. The date is et for Wed 25th Jan and it will bea tough day.

His girlfriend has asked if anyone could speak at the service, but it is unlikely that my fella (best mate) will feel able to do so.

I thought that perhaps I might be able to speak on his behalf.

I have been searching the net for an appropriate poem but haven't found anything suitable yet.

If anyone has something I would be grateful if they could pass it on.

Can you feel the wind in Heaven
Can you hear me call your name
Can you see the tears that fall
This world wont ever be the same

Can you feel the wind in Heaven
When we gather in our group
Can you hear the sound of silence
When we look where you once stood.

Can you feel the wind in Heaven
Can you hear the ladies cry
Can you feel our broken hearts
When we have to say goodbye

Can you feel the wind in Heaven
While the men hold back the tears
Leather clad and watery eyes
And know we’d rather have you here

I hope there is a Biker Heaven
And we will meet again someday
I hope to feel the wind in Heaven
And shake your hand again that day

I wish I could take credit for that... If you google the first line, it shows up all over the web and a couple of different sites lay claim to ownership...

His Journey Goes On......
by Joe Eliston

Its all about the journey
Its the part that counts
Even when he gets there
He may just turn around.

He rides like an eagle, flying
All along the stars
It's all about the journey
Safe now from any harm.

Too soon he left to travel
Beyond where we can see
But its all about the journey
Forever riding free.

He Rolls On
By Mikealgazi

He Rolls on

Towards the West,

Bright orange setting sun

Guiding his way to rest.

The sun forever shine

On his weathered face,

I know this friend of mine

Is speeding to a better place.

On wings of Rolling Thunder

NO state trooper can see,

He rolls roads up yonder

He rolls on, Free.

Crutch R.I.P.
~By Sorez The Scribe

Miles will never distance
The depth of respect
Between Us Brothers
Of the Mistress wind
As you close your eyes
Smile my friend
Think of the many miles
Still left to ride
Hold onto memories
Never give up
Upon life
For as long as I breathe
You are a part of me
As long as I ride
You shall ride with me
And when I leave here
To join you there
Others will ride for us
Onward Forever Forward
Into the wind

Thank you so much! This one made me cry as it is so very apt - if I can manage to read it on behalf of my fella it will be very moving.

I have looked at hundreds of poems but was hopeful someone would come up with something special - so thanx.
