New from SC with questions
Hello all, I'm Brian and I live in South Carolina. Recently made the decision that I want a bike (it's going to be my college graduation present to myself). I know very little about riding and have only been on a dirtbike twice, but I'm excited to learn. I'm looking at getting a 2002 Suzuki Savage 650 with ~5000miles on it. The guy wants $2000 but I think he'll come off that some (he said the tires need replacing). I'm 5'7" 190lb so from what I've read it should be a good fit for me. Any helpful bits of knowledge and opinions on the bike would be appreciated. btw, I am planning on taking a MSF course, but doesn't look like I'll be able to do it for another month or two due to schedule
.

Re: New from SC with questions
Hi Brian, how you doing. A Savage is a good bike to start out on. The only advice I have to give is you might want to wait until you go through the MSF course to pick up the bike. Read some books on riding and watch as many videos about riding as you can. (Captain Crash's vids are good) Good Luck!
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Thanks, I'm planning on picking it up with a truck so i can learn slowly later. I've actually watched Capt crash's whole series and have a few bikers in the family to help me learn. Planning on taking a class asap, just want to get the bike before it gets sold.
