Hi all, started my XT600 for the first time in a few months...ran fine for 10 minutes or so then suddenly cut out. Tried starting the engine again but wouldn't start. Took out the plug to check for spark, all sparking ok while turning the engine. Topped up with petrol, no problem with petrol getting to the carb. Now, it starts after a lot of turning but after a few seconds it dies again. Bearing in mind that the bike doesn't get a lot of use these days, and has been laid up most of the winter months, does anyone have any ideas as to where to start looking for the problem??
Cheers, Colin...

I'd be willing to bet you just need to clean your carb. Pilot jets clog up pretty easily when not used for months.

Re: XT600 issues...
I would go with that, try spraying some carb cleaner in the air intake with the engine ruunning
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R
