Throttle vibration on 1300 VStar

What could be the cause of a vibration in the throttle hand grip when riding 60-70 mph? Sometimes my fingers get numb from the vibration, and maybe later on the way back home, it doesn't. This can be on the same tank of gas too. I've been running " no-ethylene" gas lately and using Sea Foam about every 3-4 tanks. The vibration is not felt in the left side, only the right. Any clues?

Do you have a death grip on your throttle?

No death grip for sure. Sometimes I'll actually hold the throttle using my palm and little finger, so I can wiggle my thumb and other fingers for a few seconds to get the tingling to stop. I might have stumbled across something this past weekend. I changed my oil and filter, and when I pulled the drain pan out from under the bike to pour out the oil, I found a sprocket tooth laying on the container. It was about 1/4" wide, and appeared to be from a sprocket and not a gear. Now I'm wondering how involved it's going to be to get that checked out. My thoughts are timing chain sprocket, but I do not know enough about the internal parts of the engine to say what else it could be. Any clues out there?

Uh oh... That not is good.
Looking over the schematics, it seems short of the cam sprockets, there's only two sprockets in the engine. 1 is on the end of the crankshaft, and it runs a chain to the other that is on the oil pump.
Chances are good that if it was the cam sprockets you'd have blown up your motor by now. So I'm guessing oil pump sprockets.
